About
Blair Underwood has appeared in many television programs and films. He is probably best known for his role as "Jonathan Rollins" in L.A. Law, a role in which he acted for seven years.
In addition to his role in L.A. Law he has appeared in numerous films, these credits include Gattaca (1997), Deep Impact (1998), and Rules of Engagement (2000), amongst many others.
He has also appeared in many television programs most notably in L.A. Law. His other credits include Knight Rider (1985), Sex and the City (2003-04), and more recently Dirty Sexy Money (2007) as "Simon Elder".
Blair has also performed his acting on stage. His theater credits include Measure for Measure at the 1993 New York Shakespeare Festival, El Negro en Peru, The Game of Love and Chance, and Love Letters in 2002.
In addition to his acting, Blair directed the films The Bridge to Nowhere (2009) and The Second Coming (1992). He has also worked as producer for cinema film The Hit (2007), as associate producer for television film Father & Son: Dangerous Relations (1993), and executive producer for television series Million Dollar Christmas (2007).

- Blair Underwood won five Image Awards and was nominated for nine other times for an Image award. His wins and nominations were in the outstanding lead and supporting actor categories.
- Blair was nominated twice for a Golden Globe award, in the Best Supporting actor in Television category: In 1991 for L.A. Law, and in 2009 for In Treatment.
- Blair is also a published author. He co-wrote the mystery From Cape Town with Love: A Tennyson Hardwick Novel with Tananarive Due and Steve Barnes, which was nominated in the mystery category for the 2010 African American Literary Awards.
