Character History
1944
Thomas was one of the people, along with Sophia and Simon, who was on the plane that crashed in the Brooks Mountain Range. Sophia orders Thomas to collect all the able-bodied people to get ready to go. Thomas refuses to leave Sophia with the others. Sophia tells him that she can't risk all of them getting caught and hugs him goodbye. (To Keep Us Safe)
Thomas is one of the few who is able to leave the crash site, since he sustained no injuries (Protect Them from the Truth). Thomas and Simon leave with the other able-bodied passengers. After they travel on foot for a while they find a deserted arctic base, which they search in order to ensure whether it is safe or not, finding only food and supplies. When Thomas finds a radio, he takes it apart to examine it and tells Simon that the society that built doesn't have good enough technology that will be able to send them home (Casualties of War).
1945
Thomas arrives to an apartment, and finds that Simon has been waiting for him. They talk about leaving everyone behind and why they had to. Thomas tells him that he has been working on pushing the country's scientific knowledge so they can be helped too. He claims that he has been helping out on the Manhattan Project--pushing the timeline for the U.S. government's development of nuclear fission technology to a matter of months instead of decades. (Casualties of War)
2010
Simon meets with Thomas and explains to him that the President now knows about the others that are out there, and that the release of all the detainees at Inostranka is not going to happen. (To Keep Us Safe)
Later, Thomas manages to phone the President. He tells Elias that he was the one who pulled the plane out of the sky, and proceeds to demand the release of all the detainees at Inostranka (A Matter of Life and Death). Meanwhile, the passengers of Avias 514 start to have nosebleeds and begin acting out violently (Casualties of War).
When Thomas calls back he offers an antidote, which will cure the passengers of their symptoms, in exchange for the release of the remaining 96 prisoners. Simon later meets Thomas in a park, and they get into an argument about saving the Avias 514 passengers, resulting in Simon punching him. (Casualties of War)
